Psychodynamic Therapy in McLean, Vienna, and Tysons Corner
In-person psychotherapy in McLean, near Vienna, Tysons Corner, Falls Church, and other Northern Virginia communities. Telehealth is also available throughout Virginia.
Therapy can be useful when something in your life feels painful, repetitive, or hard to fully name. Some people come in the midst of anxiety, grief, trauma, or relationship difficulties. Others come because they feel stuck, unseen, or divided against themselves in ways that have become difficult to keep carrying alone.
I offer psychodynamic therapy for adults who want to understand themselves more deeply. This work is especially suited to people who are curious about their inner lives, interested in patterns that keep returning, and looking for more than symptom management alone.
A depth-oriented approach to therapy
Psychodynamic therapy pays attention to the emotional patterns that shape your life: the ways you relate to yourself and others, the protections you developed to get through, and the earlier experiences that may still be alive in the present.
Sessions are open-ended and conversational. We do not follow a workbook or protocol. Instead, we make space for what feels most important: your feelings, relationships, history, conflicts, longings, and the parts of yourself that may have been difficult to know or easier to keep at a distance.
Over time, this kind of therapy can help you speak more freely, recognize what keeps repeating, and live with greater honesty and self-understanding.
Who I work with
I work with adults dealing with anxiety, trauma, painful relationship patterns, grief, life transitions, and identity questions. People find their way here for different reasons, and from many different starting points.
My practice also includes work with queer, trans, and nonbinary clients. As a queer-affirming therapist, I work with people navigating shame, family strain, minority stress, belonging, and the fatigue of having to translate themselves in order to be understood.

Beginning therapy
Starting therapy does not require a perfectly formed explanation of what is wrong. A sense that something in your life is not working, or that something in you wants attention, is enough.
I offer a brief consultation so we can talk about what brings you in and whether working together may be a good fit.
